Biography

I love to draw. As a child, I drew my way through many small towns and hot cities in Texas and Oklahoma as my parents chased their dreams. I continued in college, taking a degree in drawing & painting.

These days, I love drawing on a computer. Unfortunately, I had to wait 20 years from the time I finished school for the personal computer to be invented. But while I was waiting, I drew cartoons, comic strips, editorial cartoons and had a syndicated drawing service for newspaper OpEd pages. After the invention of the Mac I was finally able to work electronically, so I drew my way onto the pages of the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Oracle Magazine, Wall Street Journal, US News & Report and California Magazine, among others. Along the way, I've also done projects for Apple Computer, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Pearson Publishing, Ernst & Young and Chronicle Books, to name a few.

I've also taught drawing and illustration at California College of the Arts, the San Francisco Academy of Art University and University of California at Berkeley Extension.

I've reviewed awards from Print Magazine, Communications Arts Magazine, The Society of Newspaper Design, Step by Step Magazine (both the Japanese and American versions), the Western Art Director's Club and was the recipient of a Meritorious Achievement Award from the Media Alliance of San Francisco. A collection of my work was drawn together and included in the book Illustrator Master.

I live in San Francisco, where the air is cool, the views are fantastic and the food is unbelievable—draws I couldn’t resist.
